Hiring Full-Time Police Officer

POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Orono is seeking an energetic, motivated individual for the position of full-time Police Officer.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have completed the 100 hour Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program, and have passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy (MCJA) ALERT and physical agility tests.  Applicants may also be required to pass an oral board; and, may be subjected to medical, psychological, and polygraph tests, as well as a background check.  The Town offers a competitive salary and benefit package including health and dental insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and participation in the Maine State Retirement System.  Police Officers are also covered under the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement.  Lateral transfer incentives are available for individuals who have completed the MCJA Basic Law Enforcement Training Program or its equivalent.  Starting salary is commensurate with experience.
